How can art help us communicate?

My work is all about using visual mediums as a form of non-verbal communication.

Whether consciously or subconsciously, we understand our world through visual cues. I am passionate about using those tools intentionally to curate experiences for an audience. With a strong background in fine arts and psychology, I use my understanding of psychology to identify effective design strategies in my work. I believe in methodology strongly rooted in research for this reason.

As artists, we rarely get to explain our work, it needs to have a strong enough backing to stand on its own.

I’m interested in using costumes to understand characters on a new level, breaking down how they imagine themselves as well as how they’re seen by others. I especially enjoy playing with vibrant color and avant-garde makeup. This often brings me into drag spaces, where I’m lucky enough to frequently partner with drag preformers.

My studio work follows a similar path, focusing on creating a feeling the audience can connect with on various levels – rather than focusing on a specific message.
